The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employment Solicitor 4 PQE+ to join a highly regarded and growing Employment team at a leading commercial law firm.
Recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, the team advises a diverse client base including SMEs, owner-managed businesses, corporate clients, HR professionals and senior executives. The Role
You will advise clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:
- Employment Tribunal litigation, including whistleblowing, discrimination and unfair dismissal claims
- Senior executive appointments, exits and restrictive covenant matters
- Restructures, redundancies and TUPE projects
- Settlement agreements and workplace investigations
- Confidential information disputes and urgent injunctive relief
- Day-to-day employment law and HR advisory work
You will act as a trusted adviser to clients, providing commercially focused and practical solutions while managing matters from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied employment caseload across both contentious and non-contentious matters
- Providing strategic employment law advice to employers, HR teams and senior leadership teams
- Conducting and supporting Employment Tribunal litigation
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and settlement agreements
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members and trainees
- Contributing to client training, legal updates and knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Supporting business development and client relationship activities
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will possess:
- Qualified Solicitor with 4 PQE + in Employment Law
- Strong experience managing employment matters independently
- Excellent technical knowledge across contentious and non-contentious employment law
- Strong drafting, negotiation and client management skills
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to legal advice
- Experience supervising junior lawyers is advantageous
- Advocacy experience would be beneficial but is not essential
- A proactive approach to business development and networking
